26th April 2021: Join us to a special session dedicated to seismic imaging at this years at the European Geoscience Union General Assembly 2021. This year’s edition is themed ‘#vEGU21: Engage • Discover • Inspire’. The dedicated session is convened by GEOMED research team. 31st March 2021: Publication describing the newly set up network on the islands of Malta in the centre of the Mediterranean: “A First National Seismic Network for the Maltese Islands—The Malta Seismic Network” in the acclaimed journal Seismological Research Letters.

16th December 2020: A specialised session is held at the American Geophysical Union online conference: Imaging Earth Structures from the Surface Down to the Upper Mantle with Multiple Geophysical and Geochemical Data I and II (Posters). A GEOMED dedicated poster is presented: Seismicity and seismic imaging of the Sicily Channel (Central Mediterranean Sea).

4th November 2020: Presentation at EPOS Sustainability Phase / AdriaArray / ORFEUS international remote workshop titled: “Lithosphere structure of Central Mediterranean from ambient noise tomography”.

2nd November 2020: Scientific results presented at the 3rd Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (https://www.cajg.org):
1) Lateral varying lithospheric structure across the Sicily Channel Rift Zone from seismic tomography
2) Seismicity across the easter Sicily Channel Rift Zone

13th May 2020: Seminar at L-Università ta’ Malta (Msida, Malta) titled: “Seismicity and seismic imaging of the Sicily Channel”.

6th May 2020: Publication of “An instrumental earthquake catalogue for the offshore Maltese islands region, 1995–2014” in Annals of Geophysics. This new catalgoue provide a more detailed map of the seismicity in the Eastern part the Sicily Channel.

8th May 2020: European Geoscience Union General Assembly 2020 presentation “Imaging the Sicily Channel Rift Zone (Central Mediterranean) with seismic ambient noise tomography”. View the poster here.
